Bike tour day 3 – Crimmitschau to Kahla

Shortly after starting, we left Saxony and headed into Thuringia. One of the things I noticed are the gradual changes in architecture as we go from town to town. Now that we’re in Thuringia, half-timbered houses and slate roofs are a common sight.

In the afternoon we visited the Köstritzer brewery, which produces the most popular dark beer in Germany. We got a tour of the brewery and could taste all the different types of beer they make. Unfortunately, we had to bike another 60 hilly kilometers afterwards, so today was quite exhausting.

Highlight of the day: Biking on my own in the evening sun and finally seeing the town sign of our destination.
