Bike tour day 5 – Oettern to Erfurt

Today we had really nice stops. We started by following the Ilm river into Weimar, arriving right at Goethe’s Garden House. From there, we continued to explore the city. It’s full of beautiful classicist architecture, but also the birthplace of the Bauhaus.

From Weimar I went up to Buchenwald, which was one of the biggest concentration camps and is now a memorial. I took some time there before continuing to Erfurt. There I met an old school friend for a drink and a walk through the city.

Highlight of the day: That my friend spontaneously had time to meet.
