Bike tour day 6 – Erfurt to Breitungen

Today was easily the hardest day of the tour. It was 33°C in the shade, and most of the route was in direct sun. We biked 90 km with 1140 height meters to cross the Thüringer Wald. Some in our group took the train to the next stop, but I chose to bike because I wanted the satisfaction of doing it all, and I’m happy I did.

On the way we passed through Gotha for a short break. Later I got a bit lost, but it led me to a nice waterfall. Our destination today is next to a lake and after all the sweating, I jumped right in after I arrived.

Highlight of the day: Cooling off in the lake, just floating and relaxing the muscles.
